Spanish Teacher - Nicole Fewell (Gives Lessons in Franklin Township, Southside & Downtown)

I teach Spanish and English as a Second Language at Whiteland Community High School and give Spanish lessons outside of school as well. I have taught for six years now and thoroughly enjoy it. I grew up in Fairland, Indiana, and have had the wonderful opportunity of visiting Mexico on two different occasions. I  traveled to Mexico City, Merida, Teotihuacan, Chichen Itza, and Cancun in high school. I also studied in Guadalajara, Mexico for a summer during my time at the University of Indianapolis. I have a tremendous love for the Spanish culture and language and feel blessed to be able to share it with others. I live in Franklin Township and am able to give lessons on the south side or downtown.

Spanish Teacher - Santiago Pineda (Gives lessons downtown, Broad Ripple and surrounding areas)
I am a native speaker of Spanish. I was born and lived the first six years of my life in Colombia. I later majored in Spanish while an undergraduate at Wabash College. There, I tutored a small group of beginning Spanish for a semester and also studied in Valencia, Spain through UVA for a semester. I have also had experience with Medical Spanish as I have translated at two different bilingual clinics: a migrant worker clinic in Vincennes, IN and the Gennesaret free Clinic here in Indianapolis. I look forward to tutoring you and know that working together you will be speaking Spanish in no time!

Spanish Teacher - Samantha Lewis (Gives lessons on northeast side, Ft. Benjamin Harrison and Fishers)

I was born in Memphis, TN, but while growing up my family lived in OH, KY, and eventually Jackson, MS which is where I graduated from high school.  I am a senior at IUPUI (expected graduation Dec. 2008) and my major is Secondary Spanish Education. I’m also becoming dual licensed as an English as a New Language teacher. I studied abroad in the Dominican Republic and I’ve also visited Puerto Rico and Mexico. I still travel to the Dominican Republic frequently. I’ve served English Language learners and their families for four years in the Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township while working as a bilingual instructional assistant. My experience spans grades 1-12.  I student taught Spanish to grades 9-12 at Arlington High School which is part of the IPS school District. I also student taught ESL (English as a Second Language) at Craig Middle school which is part of Lawrence Township. I love Spanish and I maintain strong connections in the Spanish speaking community of Indianapolis and abroad.

Spanish Teacher - Mark Wade (Gives lessons on Northwest Side of Indianapolis and Surrounding Areas)

It’s been many years since I started learning Spanish and it has had a profound impact on my life. I would like to share my experiences with others. I am a licensed bilingual teacher with experience teaching from preschool to adults. I’ve taught whole classes as well as one on one. For me, Spanish is much more than an academic subject. I am very involved with the Hispanic community and I would enjoy sharing what I have learned with others. I've taught in Mexico, Guatemala and here in the United States. I am currently a teacher here in Indianapolis. During the summer I have a lot of flexibility with scheduling. However, during the school year I am available after school hours.

I spent the 2007/2008 academic year teaching high school English, intensive language courses, and private classes in Seville.  I am fluent in Spanish and love working with the language.
